Downtown Auto Sales LLC runs this website. This page says what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read, not to be got past — if anything here is unclear, call us on 907-280-8181 and ask.
What we collect when you contact us
When you send an enquiry through a form on this site, we receive what you type into it: your name, your phone number or email address, and your message. We use it to answer you and to keep a record of the conversation.
We do not sell your details, and we do not pass them to anyone who is not helping us answer you.
Our forms never ask for a Social Security number, a date of birth, a driver’s licence number, or bank or card details. If you are ever asked for those on a page that looks like ours, it is not ours.
What is collected automatically
We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used: which pages and vehicles get looked at, roughly which town visitors are in, and how long they stay. Google sets cookies in your browser to do this. We see totals and trends — not names, and not individual people.
Google explains its own handling at policies.google.com/privacy. You can switch it off for every site you visit with Google’s opt-out browser add-on, or block cookies in your browser settings.
We also count how many times each vehicle page is opened. That count sets no cookie, stores nothing about who you are, and cannot be traced back to a person.
Cookies
A cookie is a small file a site leaves in your browser. The only cookies this site sets are the analytics ones described above, and the ones WordPress needs if a member of our staff signs in to manage the site. Blocking cookies will not stop you browsing vehicles or sending us a message.
How long we keep things
Enquiries stay with us while we are dealing with you, and afterwards as part of our ordinary business records. Analytics data is held by Google under their own retention settings.
Your choices
Ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — by phone on 907-280-8181 or by email at info@downtownautosale.com. There is no form to fill in for this; a person will deal with it.
Children
This site is meant for people old enough to buy a vehicle. We do not knowingly collect anything from children under 13.
Changes
If we change how any of this works, we will change this page and the date at the top of it.
